Support for interreligious conflict in Indonesia

The study aims to extend knowledge on interreligious conflicts in Indonesia by investigating the extent which perceived threat, outgroup distrust, and contact mediate relationship between majority–minority affiliation support for conflict Indonesia. We employed two modes of support, lawful violent protests, represent conflict. collected survey data, covering random samples ordinary citizens (N = 2,055, Muslims Christians) across archipelago. Our results reveal that threat is strongest mediator In contrast, shows no significance explaining interest. Overall, our highlights importance focusing both protests describe explain latent Indonesia, while taking into account relevant concepts resulting from prolonged (namely distrust) one hand different traits as highly potential solutions other.
